Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA)

A PEA is an initial ecological assessment of a site used to identify ecological value, potential for protected species, and any further survey requirements for planning.

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

BNG is a DEFRA requirement that ensures development results in a net increase in biodiversity, usually assessed alongside PEAs.​​​​​
